Your child's view is built around the preferences you set during profile setup. From the moment they open the app, they see content chosen for their age range and their interests — and it keeps reflecting those interests as they watch.

You can update their preferences at any time from your parent dashboard.

Channels and content

Content in Maka is organized into channels — curated collections of videos grouped around the characters, themes, and topics your child already loves. Each channel plays through to the end, so your child stays within one focused experience rather than being pulled somewhere unexpected.

Note: If something your child loves doesn't appear, it may not yet be available for their age range. You can adjust their age range at any time from your parent dashboard.

What your child won't see

Maka is built to remove the things that make other video apps stressful for children and parents alike:

• No advertisements — ever
• No uncontrolled autoplay — your child stays within the channel they're watching rather than being pulled toward an endless stream of recommendations
• No recommendations outside your child's age range and interests
• No ability to communicate with other users or share personal information

Every piece of content in Maka is reviewed by our research team before it becomes available in the app. We look specifically for developmental appropriateness — not just safety, but genuine value for your child's growth and learning. If you ever come across something that doesn't feel right, you can report it directly to our team.
